The Pneumatic Fender (Yokohama Fender) is an abrasion-resistant rubber fender filled with high pressure air. It can easily be deflated which allows simple and cost effective relocation and re-commissioning in other locations.
Pneumatic Fenders are supplied with two different inside pressure levels to cover a wide performance range. They are manufactured according to ISO 17357-1:2014. Pneumatic Fenders can be produced using different methods and each has its own advantages when compared correctly. The most common methods are molded and wrapped. Read more about the different manufacturing methods in our Pneumatic Fender Manual. Airbags should not be mixed up with Pneumatic Fenders, airbags are used for ship launching operations and thus serve a totally different purpose than Pneumatic Fenders.
Pneumatic Fenders are available in diameters ranging from 300 mm to 5,000 mm and lengths ranging from 500 mm to 12,000 mm, as well as special sizes.
All sizes are available as sling-type or with a heavy duty chain & tire net.
Standard colors are black and grey (Navy), other colors available upon request.
We supply as well a special hydropneumatic version for submarines. More details about Hydropneumatic Fenders.

Pneumatic Fender Characteristics
Proportional increase of energy and reaction
Low hull pressure
Economical solution
Easily deflateable to be used in different location and to be stored on deck of vessels
Built as per ISO 17357-1:2014
1. When the Pneumatic rubber fender is not used for a long time, it should be washed and dried, filled with appropriate compressed air, placed in a dry, cool, ventilated place.Inventory temperature is maintained at -15 ℃ -40 ℃ .
2 .The place where the fender is stored should be kept away from the heat source.
3 .Fenders shall not be in contact with acids, alkalis, greases and organic solvents.
4 .When the fenders are not in use, they must not be stacked and should not be stacked on the ba. In order to better extend the service life of pneumatic rubber fenders, it is recommended that you store them in strict accordance with the above recommendations.
